There is a light that never goes out

Big thank you to Fergus Dowd and a team of 14 other riders who will be taking on another cycle challenge on Saturday April 5th to raise money for the Scott Bell Fund.

Timetable of the event:

8am cyclists meeting at Stadium of Light

8-8:30 Meet NUFC & SAFC ex players, get pitchside pictures at Stadium of Light

9:30 Arrive at St. James Park meet Tom Wade and some Spartan first teamers – Group photo picthside with Newcastle United and Sunderland old boys.

Homeward bound to Croft Park ETA Midday – with former Newcastle and Sunderland players.

There will then be a football talk at Blyth Spartans Club, details below.


1:00pm Andy Walsh General Manager of FC United – talk on FC United and any Q/A from the floor

1:20pm Sue and Mike O’Connell – Talk on Patrick O’Connell who managed Real Betis to La Liga and managed and saved Barcelona football club from extinction and played for and captained Manchester United.

1:40pm Talk on MND in Football – Jeff Healey or Colleague producer of Lord of the Wing The Jimmy Johnstone story.

2:00pm – Beers and pre match banter

3:00pm – Blyth Spartans v FC United

Please come along to Croft Park, Blyth from 12 noon to cheer the team of 15 riders at the end of their journey and all are welcome to listen to the talks detailed above.
